New Poll Shows Cheney Is Doomed Despite Media Efforts To Boost Her

Despite the efforts of numerous mainstream media outlets to help her, Republican Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney is in serious electoral jeopardy.

According to a new poll, Cheney is 30 points behind her primary opponent Harriet Hageman, who has received Donald Trump’s endorsement.

Hageman received 56 percent of the vote, while Cheney received only 26%, a 30% margin.

From May 24 to 25, a poll of 400 probable Republican primary voters in Wyoming was conducted. The error margin is +4.9 percent.

In a January straw poll, Hageman had a significant lead over Cheney. Hageman received 59 votes while Cheney received six in the secret ballot survey conducted by the Wyoming Republican State Central Committee, giving Hageman a 53-point victory.

According to a story published by Business Insider on Tuesday, Cheney could win re-election with these “silent supporters” who will vote for her but will not publicly endorse her.

“Despite Trump’s full-throated efforts to remove her from Congress, Cheney — a member of Wyoming political aristocracy — still commands a great deal of respect in the Cowboy State. Deploring Trump’s antics, her supporters argue that “their voice exists but has gone unnoticed so far,” according to the newspaper.

“Insider spoke with over a dozen GOP leaders and voters in Wyoming who say they reject Trump’s grasp on the party and will vote for Cheney over his favored candidate, Harriet Hageman, an attorney and former member of the Republican National Committee.” Cheney’s supporters praise her accomplishments, applaud her defiance of Trump, and have shielded her from a storm of insults in the red state, according to the report.

Despite significant media support, Cheney is lagging a Donald Trump-backed GOP primary contender in the polls and has turned to Democrats for help.

“To save her House seat, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) is looking to the same uncommon species in Wyoming: Democrats.” And Trump’s Republican allies are doing everything they can to stop her, according to Politico.

“It’s clear that Wyoming Republicans have turned against Cheney en masse,” according to Politico. “Wyoming Republicans, who voted for Trump against Joe Biden 70 to 27 percent in 2020, have flipped against Cheney en masse.”

According to recent polling, Cheney is trailing Trump-backed Harriet Hageman in the Wyoming GOP primary.

Cheney is 18 points behind Hageman in a SoCo Strategies poll meant to measure the impact of Trump endorsements.

According to a new poll of Republican voters, Hageman, a GOP activist and Cheyenne land and water rights attorney, has a 38 percent to 18 percent edge over Cheney. State Representative Anthony Bouchard has 12% of the vote, while 26% are undecided.

A handful of other state results suggest that a Trump support can be a game-changer, according to the independent poll, which was not conducted for Cheney or Hageman.

“The only 2022 Wyoming House Race Polls that have been conducted were conducted before Trump backed Harriet Hageman, so they are out of date, but they do provide us an insight into the level of dissatisfaction Wyoming Republicans have with Liz Cheney for her vote to impeach Trump.” Cheney has never above 23% in any poll, which “suggests problems for an incumbent with statewide name recognition,” according to Crowds Wisdom.

Trump declared his support for Hageman in September, saying he is “running against warmonger and disloyal Republican” Cheney.

“Harriet is a fourth-generation Wyoming daughter, a highly successful attorney, and has the support and admiration of a very brilliant United States Senator, Wyoming’s own Cynthia Lummis,” Trump added.

“Harriet Hageman adores Wyoming, is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, loves our military and veterans, and will fight for Election Integrity and Energy Independence (which [President Joe] Biden has already given up),” he continued.

“Unlike RINO Liz Cheney, Harriet is completely committed to America First.” Harriet has my complete and total support in replacing Liz Cheney, the Democrats’ number one sound bite supplier. “Make America Great Again!” exclaimed the former president.
